How a hundred-year-old street food tradition found a home beside the Water of Leith.
Pho & Roll is owned by Bau Pham, who has called Edinburgh home for around ten years. For a long time, Bau dreamed of opening a Vietnamese restaurant - not just to share the food, warmth and hospitality of Vietnam, but to create work and support family along the way. With Jenny Pham and Thinh Pham by his side, that dream is now a reality on Stockbridge's doorstep.
In Vietnamese culture, food is never just something you eat. It's how families gather, how friends connect, and how people show love, respect and hospitality - a bowl of phở, a plate of fresh spring rolls, or a shared meal around the table carries warmth, memory and meaning all at once. That spirit sits at the heart of everything we do.
Sourced daily and prepared with care, so every bowl tastes properly made.
No MSG, no shortcuts - just herbs, bones and spices doing the work.
Traditional Vietnamese techniques, respected and repeated in every single dish.
As a family-run Vietnamese restaurant in Stockbridge, we're proud to bring the flavours and generosity of Vietnamese food culture to our local community, and to Edinburgh visitors finding us for the first time. Our menu is inspired by the dishes we love ourselves - comforting bowls of phở, vermicelli noodle salads, fragrant rice dishes, vibrant herbs and slow-cooked broths.
Opening Pho & Roll in Stockbridge means a great deal to us. Edinburgh gave our family a home, and this is our way of giving something back - honest, comforting Vietnamese food, made with heart, for the city that welcomed us in.
Our doors are always open to anyone seeking comfort in a bowl of phở or joy in the company of good friends. Whether you're a long-time lover of Vietnamese food or a curious newcomer to Stockbridge, we'd love to welcome you to our table.
